RST Industrie Automation has been successfully serving customer for more than 20 years.
Today's RST GmbH began life in 1993 as a spin-off of its predecessor, RST Steuerungs- und Regeltechnik GmbH, which had been working with data centric models and the new concept of graphical development since 1986. The idea of graphical application development at the time was revolutionary and far ahead of its time. Nevertheless, by 1993 the young RST had successfully implement more than 70 customer projects based on the data centric approach - a precursor to today's data model in the Gamma V middleware platform. Several of these systems, though seemingly ancient by today's standards, are still in use.
In 1993, with a lot of comprehensive experience, the new RST Industrie Automation GmbH was founded in Ottobrunn. Here, a team comprising both permanently employed developers and highly qualified freelancers steadily works on improving our real time capable middleware platform and realizing customer projects.
In 1994, the first version of our middleware platform Gamma was officially deployed.
Since 2007, we have actively participated in building the trade association Embedded4You e.V.
In 2009, RST joined the research program SPES 2020, a joint initiative launched by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
In 2011, the Gamma platform, which now stood at version 4.6, was replaced by Gamma V. The new name was chosen instead of a simple incrementation to "Gamma 5" to symbolize the switch to a completely new code base.
In 2014, the middleware was expanded to include functionality for message based / serialized communication. Gamma V now supports all relevant concepts of industrial communication.
Starting in 2015, RST is also the official distributor for German speaking countires and parts of Eastern Europe for instruments, I/O boards and rugged systems and power supplies by US based high tech hardware manufacturer North Atlantic Industries.
Also in 2015, RST joined Bremen based avionics test consortium BreTeCe.
